Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account details: your email address, name (optional) and a securely hashed password.
• Membership details: your plan and its status. Card details are entered on Stripe's checkout and are never stored by us.
• Purchases: what you bought and, for shipped products, the name and shipping address we mail to.
• Messages: anything you send through the contact or e-letter forms.
• What you send our AI features: questions you ask Ask a Pro, and still frames from feeding videos you run through What's My Chicken Eating?, plus simple counts of how often you use them. If you tap the microphone, your browser's own speech recognition turns your voice into text on your device's terms; we only receive the text.
• App notifications: if you turn on notifications, a device token linked to your account email so we can send them. You can turn them off anytime.
• Account emails: which of our account emails we've already sent you, so you never get the same one twice.
• Home Screen app: if you open the site from your phone's Home Screen while signed in, the date you last did so.
• Basic technical data: standard server logs our host keeps for security and reliability.

How we use it

To run your account and membership, give you access to members content, send e-letters you signed up for, answer your messages, and keep the site secure. We don't sell your personal information.

Who helps us

• Netlify hosts the site, manages sign-in and stores account and membership records and form messages.
• Stripe processes payments and manages subscriptions.
• Anthropic provides the AI that writes Ask a Pro answers and analyzes feed videos, reached through Netlify's AI gateway. Your question, or frames from your video, are sent to it to produce the answer.
• ElevenLabs reads Ask a Pro answers aloud in an AI voice when you choose to hear them. Only the answer text is sent.
• Bird delivers our account emails. Only your email address and the message are sent to it. We don't send marketing email without asking.

These providers handle your data only to provide their service to us, under their own privacy terms. We don't sell or share your personal information for advertising.

Watermarks

To discourage sharing of paid content, the email on your account is stamped faintly on members-only pages and on PDFs you download.

How long we keep it

We keep account and purchase records while your account is open and as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal reasons. We don't store the feeding videos themselves; only the frames needed for your report are sent for analysis. You can ask us to delete your account and records at any time.

Children

Accounts are for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising cookies.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from e-letters at any time using the link in any e-letter or through the contact form. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or for a copy of it, through the contact form, and we'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under state law; we honor those requests the same way.

Do Not Track

We don't track you across other websites and don't respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals, because there is no cross-site tracking to turn off.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and for important changes we'll also email members.
